Tax Strategy & Filing

Stop finding out your tax bill after the year is over.

We combine quarterly projections, entity planning, and accurate filing into one year-round rhythm. The goal is not a clever move in April. It is a tax position you understand and actively manage all year.

Tax strategy for business owners in St. George and Southern Utah

Most tax bills are decided before the year ends. By the time a return is prepared, the choices that shaped it have already been made. Our work moves those decisions earlier, while you can still change the outcome.

Each quarter, we project your income and tax for the year. You see what you're likely to owe and what your options are. That could mean adjusting your salary, timing a large purchase, funding a retirement plan, or changing how the business is set up. We then prepare and file the return, which simply reports the plan you already followed.

What we look at

An entity-structure review is often the first step. An LLC, S corporation, or multi-entity setup can each be right, depending on your profit, your plans, and your state. We also review reasonable compensation, retirement contribution options, and depreciation on equipment and property.

For Utah owners, we consider the state's 4.45% income tax rate for 2026 and whether the pass-through entity election fits your S corporation or partnership. Federal estimated payments are due in April, June, September, and January, and S corporation and partnership returns are generally due March 15 for calendar-year businesses.

Common questions

Questions owners ask us.

What's the difference between tax preparation and tax planning?

Preparation reports what already happened. Planning changes what happens before the year closes, while you still have options.

When should I look at S corporation status?

When your profit is high enough that the savings outweigh the added payroll and filing costs. We model this with your actual numbers.

Can an Enrolled Agent represent me before the IRS?

Yes. Enrolled Agents are federally authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS on tax matters.
